Tribute to Becky from the United Kingdom
who died in 2015 at the age of 16 as a result of homicide
16-year-old Becky was missing for a week before she was found, and she had been murdered. Several days later, her family, friends, and hundreds of people from the community came together at a park to honor Becky’s life, releasing hundreds of colorful balloons into the grey sky, laying thousands of flowers at a makeshift memorial, and observing a moment of silence. Becky’s grandfather said that their family had received condolences from around the world and that his granddaughter has brought the community together.
