In the world of tributes to children who have passed away, scholarships have a special significance, especially with children who are in their later school years – a time when their age group is thinking seriously about education after high school. With scholarships, families and friends can often align the name, purpose, and recipients of the scholarship with specific interests and skills of their departed children, and it can be extremely gratifying to all concerned.
For some good examples, see the discussion on scholarships in the FREE netbook version of Tributes to Lost Children on this website. Once you navigate to the netbook, the treatment of scholarships begins on page 86, where Sarah’s mother notes, Investing in a child’s future feels good … and where other memorial scholarships are described.
Scholarships also have special significance to Starshine Galaxy Foundation, as the EMMMA Scholarship was part of the Foundation’s original purpose – to make an annual award that acknowledges excellence in the graphic arts.
Scholarship Report Request – LET US KNOW ABOUT SCHOLARSHIPS
Given this convergence, we aspire here at the Foundation to become a showcase for scholarships established to honor children who are no longer with us. So … if you know of such a scholarship, PLEASE let us know. Here’s a Scholarship Report Form that you can use for this purpose.
As scholarships are reported, we will feature the summary descriptions here and in other tributes reports.
